Be Dazzling is a dietary supplement by Physis Laboratory, which contains plant extracts from Horsetail (Equisetum arvense), Nettle (Urtica dioica), Garlic (Allium sativum), Pumpkin (Cucurbita pepo), Millet (Panicum miliaceum), Ginkgo biloba, Royal jelly, amino acids, vitamins and minerals.

Equisetum arvense, commonly known as Horsetail, is an herbaceous perennial plant. Its extract has anti-oxidant properties contributing to the regular blood microcirculation. Moreover, Horsetail’s extract is considered as a potential therapeutic agent of bone regeneration, due to its bioactive phytochemicals. Another medical herbaceous perennial plant is Urtica dioica, known as nettle, which is rich in nutrients such as, vitamins (Α, Β, C), mineral and anti-oxidant compounds.  Urtica dioica possess anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial properties, immunomodulatory activity and analgesic action. The Garlic (Allium sativum) is a widely valuable spice worldwide. It is used in cooking providing characteristic flavor, but due to its bioactive compounds, has beneficial therapeutic and pharmacological effects, such as anti-microbial, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, anti-hypertensive and other properties. Moreover, it has been found that the administration of garlic decreases LDL levels in human blood. Another beneficial plant extract for human health is that of Pumpkin (Cucurbita pepo), which contains high levels of bioactives, such as anti-oxidant vitamins, tocopherols, phytosterols, proteins etc. These compounds have anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory and other activities. The Millet (Panicum miliaceum) is a nutritious cereal rich in anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, proteins and dietary fiber, that promote health. The extract from Ginkgo biloba or ginkgo’s leaves, is another well-known herbal medicine especially for its anti-oxidant substances. Gingko’s extract contributes to the improvement of memory, decreasing symptoms such as cognitive decline and alertness, but it also takes part to the prevention from retinal diseases, that are related with oxidative stress, and to the treatment of tinnitus. The Royal jelly is a widely consumed bee product, which is rich in proteins, amino acids, carbohydrates, fatty acids, vitamins, minerals and phenolic compounds. Clinical trials provide evidences, that royal jelly could be a great therapeutic agent possessing anti-diabetic, anti-oxidant and wound healing properties. Moreover, it has been found that it reduces the premenstrual syndrome and improves mental health. Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) is a natural organosulfur compound found in fruits, vegetables and grains and it is consumed worldwide as a non-toxic dietary supplement. Due to its anti-inflammatory action, it is used as a therapeutic agent for the effective treatment of inflammatory conditions, while it improves motion and physical functioning. B-group vitamins contribute to body’s maintenance being a part of numerous metabolic processes, and that’s why they are of great importance for human health. Thiamine (vitamin B1) is an essential vitamin playing a crucial role in carbohydrates’ metabolism and in energy production. The human body is unable to synthesize thiamine or to store it in large quantities in tissues. Vitamin B5 is considered to be an important factor for the regulation of the epidermal barrier function maintaining the differentiation and proliferation of keratinocytes, while its deficiency could cause among other symptoms, fatigue, arthritic pain, headache, depression etc. Vitamin B6 functions as a coenzyme in the metabolic transformations of amino acids, while participates in other metabolic pathways. This vitamin has been proposed as an anti-stress agent and it has been found to reduce blood cholesterol. Another important vitamin is Biotin (Β7). This particular vitamin helps in maintenance of the natural condition of the hair, skin and nails. Vitamin Β9, commonly known as Folic acid, is essential to the development of the nervous system, while it is a potential agent for the treatment of the endothelial dysfunction decreasing the risk of cardiovascular diseases. It has anti-oxidant action protecting from UV radiation, while it contributes to the formation and stabilization of collagen’s structure. Vitamin E, mainly in the form of α-tocopherol, is an essential nutrient with anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory action and therefore contributing to the improvement of muscle function. Moreover, it is considered as the predominant anti-oxidant compound of the physiological human skin barrier contributing to the skin’s maintenance and having anti-aging properties and regenerative capacity. Magnesium is a metal compound and its use has been proposed in the last few years during the treatment of several diseases including myocardial infarction, arrythmias, stroke, asthma, migraine, preeclampsia etc. The maximum content of body’s total magnesium is stored in human bones and muscles, and as a result magnesium plays a fundamental role in osteoblasts proliferation and consequently in bones’ proper formation, but also in muscles’ function, contraction and relaxation. The magnesium supplementation has beneficial effects preventing and/or delaying the decrease of the age-related physical performance and function. Zinc is an important trace element for human physiology and metabolism. Moreover, it is an essential compound for the development and maintenance of the tissues of human body including the skin. Its deficiency could bring diverse symptoms affecting the immune, gastrointestinal, and central nervous system and of course the skin. Copper is another important trace element for human organism and body. It plays a crucial role in metabolic and physiological processes in several human tissues including skin. Specifically, copper is considered to be an essential nutrient for angiogenesis and skin generation. L-cysteine is a sulphur amino acid that is crucial for the synthesis of body’s proteins. Specifically, cysteine contributes to the formation of disulfide bridges playing a key role in the folding and stabilization of keratin’s tertiary structure, which is the main substance of hair and the most abundant protein of the skin. As a result, cysteine provides the keratin with strength and rigidity. Moreover, this amino acid is necessary for the biosynthesis of glutathione, one of the most powerful anti-oxidant agent of human organism and which deficiency is combined with the signs of aging. Except, cysteine, L-methionine is an amino acid that can be found in several body proteins and is essential for cell metabolism. Methionine can also be converted into “active methionine’’ or S-adenosylmethionine, which is required for the synthesis of creatine, and other sulphur-containing molecules, which are important for cells normal function, protein biosynthesis and protection of tissues. Last but not least, L-proline is a really important amino acid for human’s body. Specifically, L-proline is needed for the biosynthesis of collagen, which is the most abundant protein of human body. Therefore, the availability of L-proline is not only crucial for collagen’s biosynthesis, but also for the maintenance of tissues such as the skin.
