The AMINO ANIMO Hemp Protein contains beneficial unsaturated fatty acids, namely omega-3, 6 and 9, which promote cardiovascular health by altering the blood serum lipid profile and decreasing cholesterol. It is considered a rich source of minerals and trace elements, that protect the human body from oxidative damage, while it contains dietary fibers, that promote gut health. Hemp protein is produced from the seeds of the Cannabis sativa plant. It is characterized by high digestibility and bioavailability. It is a viable and complete, plant-based protein source, containing all amino acids required by humans. Glutamic acid and arginine are the most abundant amino acids of hemp protein. Glutamic acid is an important neurotransmitter that contributes to the biosynthesis of biologically active peptides. In addition, it is an energy supplier through its metabolism in the central nervous system, while it is necessary for the biosynthesis of glutathione, a vital antioxidant compound contributing to the proper functioning of the immune system. Arginine has beneficial cardiovascular properties. It is a dietary precursor for the formation of nitric oxide (NO), which is very important for cardiovascular health. Changes in arginine levels are important in terms of cardiometabolic risk and healthy functioning of the body. Hemp protein reportedly regulates postprandial blood glucose response and insulin, while data support that it is hypoallergic because it is less possible to cause allergic symptoms compared to other proteins. Studies have shown that hemp protein has an antioxidant action by inhibiting oxidative stress, thanks to the bioactive peptides it contains. Hemp protein provides anti-hypertensive protection as an ACE-inhibitor by preventing the increase of blood pressure, and has an anti-inflammatory ability by inhibiting several inflammatory reactions related to various signaling pathways, such as that of NF-κB, the deregulation of which causes, among others, disruption of the proper immune response in inflammatory conditions.
